Well, I had the day off from work today but a snowstorm ruined my plans for a productive time. Instead, school was closed which meant my kids were home and either bugging me or just generally making alot of noise. I know there are some homeschooling moms that work from home but for the life of me I don’t know how they do it! I can get some stuff done, but it’s hard to concentrate and I could certainly never write articles (not that I’ve been doing much of that anyway).
I did find a writer to help out with a few articles a week. I went with a US writer as I would rather pay more for quality but the trade-off is I won’t be able to afford too many articles a week. Still, I have had such a hard time motivating to write that any amount of outsourced articles will be a big help. Of course the hard part now is generating enough keywords to pass on to my writer consistently. I don’t know how some of my IM friends (like Sara) can pump out so many sites!
I’m using Market Samurai for my keyword research and I feel it is very slow. Maybe it’s me. I checked out Micro Niche Finder, but just can’t justify buying a second keyword finder. I’m really impressed at how some people are able to find so many keywords and I need to get better at it.
While searching for keywords I realized I still need a firm plan of how to move forward with site building. My loosey-goosey plan is just to build a few sites and expand on the sites that do well (mostly adsense-based), but I know that if I can’t get kw-based domains that it will take a fair amount of time to rank. Still, I lean towards an authority site model long-term so I don’t want to sweat over domain naming. I’m still thinking it through.
My adsense has been low the last week or two but my eHow earnings are doing really well this month. Hopefully the month balances out. I plan to keep reinvesting all my earnings back into content/link building for awhile.
I think I mentioned last time that I was trolling the WSO section of WF again. I realized I hit a new low when I kept looking at a particular WSO and almost bought it before realizing I already owned it! Actually, I don’t spend too much money there but there are times I think about it so I need to be careful.
Off to do some more semi-productive work…

Aww a snowstorm can definitely make it difficult for a mom to get any work done. Its one thing to have them home with you unexpectedly but its another thing to have them stuck indoors too! lol I love my son but I totally feel you on the home schooling thing. I just couldn’t do it.
I wanted to get Market Samurai but like you, since I already have MNF, I can’t justify buying another keyword research software. I bet you will really like MS once you get used to it some. I have read lots of good stuff about it.
Authority sites have great potential to make you a tone of money. If I didn’t feel the urgency to earn big and earn fast, I would start off with one authority site and just focus all my time and energy into it. maybe in a few months I can do that.
