I suggest to concentrate on getting quality back links to your niche sites. One strategy is to publish articles on ezinearticles.com and insert your niche url in Author bio. Will get you a good link from high PR site.

I use GWT on my old site but haven't added my niches yet. It's on my to do list.

I'm not sure if I am familar with the screens you are talking about as I haven't spent too much time playing with it. My old site is a static html - each page would have to track separately which would be a big pain. With a WP theme site I am hoping all pages are tracked through the main site addition to GWT.

Glad the PLR post helped you out. Be careful, there is alot of junk out there but as long as you re-write you should be good.

Have you registered with Google Webmaster Tools? It has a search screen where you can see:

Impressions
The top 20 queries in which your site appeared, and the percentage of the top 20 queries represented by each search.

Traffic
The top 20 queries from which users reached your site, and the percentage of the top 20 queries represented by each click.

It lists the position against each of the keywords - so you can see how you are ranking without searching.

Thanks to your previous post about PLR articles I managed to track down some free ones for my niche and have spent the afternoon re-writing some. I'm only focusing on two niches at the moment but need to put some more time and effort in. I've made a few cents in adsense so far and an affiliate sale so hopefully I'm heading in the right direction.
