Well, I only bought 2 domains yesterday. I had three with okay keyword (KW) domains, but punted at the last minute because two of the domains were only available with the .org extension. I just feel weird using a .org for a money-making site. I do have one .org which was too good of a KW to pass up, but I don’t want anymore. That’s just me.
So I have one new domain which isn’t a very high search volume (by exact search) but it is in the working from home niche so I know it will be easy to monetize. I may actually start with a small site mostly targeted to a clickbank product. Most of my sites are targeted towards adsense, but I’d like to try a small clickbank site for kicks.
The other domain is a KW with an extra word added at the end. The KW gets high search volume and has high competition, but the sites ranking (with quotes in the search) didn’t have very high PR nor did they seem well optimized for the keyword, so I think I have a fair chance of ranking. It is also a topic I have alot of personal interest in so I would like to give it a go anyway.
Unless I stumble onto a great niche, I think I will stop with the domain-buying for awhile. I am hoping I can get a homepage up on my new sites and then I can just let them sit and age until I have time to actually work on them. Now I just need to figure out how to prioritize them into all my other “to do’s”.

I know how you feel about trying to prioritize. I always come up with new ideas and new domain names! But sometimes I guess we have to remember to give the old ideas enough attention first.
Don’t feel weird about a .org because essentially your niche sites are providing information. At least that’s how they should come off as. Unless you own your own store and are selling your own merchandise, I think a .org is fine.
Nothing wrong with providing information to your readers and then adding an affiliate link here or adding adsense there.
Yeah, that’s true. But I prefer to not use them if I don’t have to.
I have considered creating a niche site using clickbank instead of AdSense. I would be interested in hearing more about how this works out for you. I only have 1 niche site right now that I am building but plan to add 1 per month (or at least that is the goal).
Well, it will probably be awhile till I get to that domain, but I will post my results when I do. Thanks for stopping by.
