Well, the negotiations on the house we want to buy continue. It’s been 2 weeks now and I am really frustrated. We’re close, I think the deal will go through but we are still not there yet.
But, I have started to modify my plans now in anticipation of buying a house, selling our house, moving, kids out of school for the summer…YIKES! I’m trying to tie up a few loose ends and then I’ll have to pretty much shut down my work online for awhile. I thought I had trouble motivating to write but I would probably find an excuse to write before choosing to clean out junk in anticipation of putting our house on the market and/or packing. So while I might have a little time here or there to get a few backlinks or something, it’s probably better I take an extended break and focus on moving. We’ll see how it goes.
On the good news front, I got a $6 Amazon sale on one of my newer sites which is product-related. I haven’t done much yet to market that site so that was encouraging. On the bad news front, my main niche had been sitting nicely on the bottom of Page 1 of Google for a few weeks but has now dropped down to bottom of Page 2. I thought I had finally accumulated enough BLs to keep it on Page 1 but either that is not the case or this is just a temporary shuffle. Over the past 2 months (??) I have had a steady stream of BLs coming in but that has now stopped and I am wondering if the Page 1 ranking was strictly due to the BL dripping. I have been trying to “juice” my backlinks to the site with their own backlinks hoping that would stabilize this site (since it loves to Tango) but looks like I need either more juice or more direct BLs. That site is becoming my Everest.
I actually was dripped links out to my main niche site and a clickbank mini-site and it really seems to help with rankings. The CB site dropped down also but today has rebounded to #3 so hopefully that sticks. But overall, from experimenting and reading about other people, I am starting to see the value of a program like UAW which allows you to keep dripping out links. I can’t justify the cost at the moment, but it is on my mind for the future. Just thought I would share that.
I mentioned that my first try with Free Traffic System failed, but I did get the same spun article (which had been submitted elsewhere) through ArticleRanks. So far it has been submitted to 12 sites in 3 days, we’ll see how far it goes. I will also need to test if a brand new article (spun) does better submission-wise. ArticleRanks costs $2 per submission but you have to deposit a minimum of $10. I’ll monitor the results to see if $2 is worth the links I get back. I’m also gonna try FTS again with another “used” spun article to see what happens just to be sure a new, unique article is required.
On the agenda for this week is to try and get some articles I had written a few weeks ago finally posted to Ezine and also get some old site articles (from a site I took down) posted to rev-sharing sites (Hubpages, Info Barrel). I plan to have my writer finish up the articles for two new sites and then stop, assuming this house thing goes through. If I can get in a few BL runs before closing business down that would be great but there may not be time. I’d also like to throw a few BLs specifically at my main niche site to get it back on Page 1 since that is one of two adsense earners.
That’s my update for now.

Sounds like you’ve got a lot on your plate! Good luck with the house, I hope it all goes well – though you seem to be doing pretty well with your online work at the moment anyway!
I hope the house deal goes through for you. Hopefully once you get all moved and settled in, you will be able to be more productive than ever!
