I think I mentioned previously that I earned $6 from Amazon for a product sale on a site I haven’t really promoted yet. Well, I actually sold the same product in April for another $6 which was exciting. The reason I hadn’t noticed is because I don’t check my Amazon account very often and I find their reporting structure a bit difficult for getting a birdseye view.

But, today I just checked and someone bought two of a rather expensive item through that same site and I earned $64!! Holy Cow!

My earnings have been so stagnant that this is really exciting! The only thing that stinks is that I am feeling pretty motivated but can’t do too much now as I have to get ready to put our house on the market next week. Drats!

I also have another item that shows as ordered, but there is no ad fee showing. Maybe b/c it hasn’t shipped? We’ll see.

Just wanted to share that. It’s funny how one good earning day can get you excited.

Carrie that is awesome-even $6 but $64! I cannot wait till mine *cross my fingers* earn their first sale! I am curious how you set yours up?

To be honest, Amazon was a bit of a side thought for this site. I have Amazon product pics/links in the sidebar and then in some posts which are about specific models, I include 2 text links and one picture link (top left).

What I need to work on is tracking my links. I believe you can set up individual tracking links so you can know exactly where the sales are coming from, but I probably won’t get to that anytime soon.

  3. That’s great! What you said about Amazon being a side thought is interesting – because all the sites I have Amazon on are really as a side thought, and I just LOVE the way Amazon can bring in unexpected sales like that. Really makes me see huge potential in Amazon.

    Thanks, Ruth.

Yeah, I mostly build my sites with Amazon in mind but since this was product-based and I wasn’t ready to add Adsense I decided to add Amazon. It may be that this site would be better as Amazon only?

  5. Very interesting – especially since it seems rather difficult to make an amazon sale for me. I haven’t done your style, though, it makes more sense when you describe it that way.

I am now having a dilemma: I want AR, but need to pay for SEOLV, UAW and MS…yikes…I’m dropping one of those in favor of AR.

Have you heard anything about MAN or AMA? Or: 1WayLinks?

  6. Carrie says:

James, why do you need to drop something? Just buy $10 worth of credits on AR and see if you like it or not. No reason to start with a monthly membership.

I have heard mixed reviews on MAN and AMA. Don’t know much about 1WayLinks.

  7. Carrie says:

Oh yeah, in case you hadn’t seen it somewhere AMA and MAN use the same network so you only need one of those.

  8. True – I could “try it” if I was that sort of guy. :)

I’m all in or not in…and: SEOLV — I would report that it has great/good/bad results…but the system has frozen every time I try to post.

Granted I am trying to go for their “this topic is in demand, write an article based on this subject” heading…it might just be busted? Server probs?

System’s glitchy as of yet. Wish I could an article thru — BUT need to try out their general publish section, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the report! I think I will, having said all of that, try them out first…but I usually stick w/something and then ask for a refund if it’s no good.

Congrat’s on those Amazon sales! Amazon has been slow for me lately, but I always love seeing the occasional surprise sale. Like you, it’s been a side thought on many of my sites, but I’m planning to start building real Amazon sites starting June to see if I can actually start getting some regular, reliable income from them.

    Congs!
Am yet to figure out how Amzon works but I will get there
