Background on building backlinks with articles.
I have received one set of articles back (site 1) from GetArticlesDone.com but still waiting for the second set. The first set wasn’t bad and should only require some minor editing so that is good. The 3 rewrites (one article rewritten 2 times) were at least 80% unique so I end up with 3 x 500 word articles for $3.32 each. Not bad. Hopefully the second set for Site 2 are good also.
I have decided I will post the three articles I am having written to EZA, Info Barrel, and Squidoo with links back to the corresponding site homepage and to an inner page. I will then take an EZA article I already have posted for each site, spin it, and then link back to those 3 properties. The idea is to juice those pages linking to my site to hopefully avoid alot of the rank dancing that happens when I link too much directly to my site.
In the past I still linked back to my site with some of the higher PR, more popular article directories and pointed the majority of the other links to EZA, but this time I think I will see what just juicing my links does. I also will not have to worry about dripping the links out like I do when linking back to my sites so this test goes a bit faster. Since I haven’t done this exact routine before I am interested to see what happens.
I have a busy weekend planned so I will probably get started on Monday. Next week is also the last week of school so I’ll need to move fast.

I must admit I really like articles for the same sort of reasons as you. It’ll be interesting to see how it works out linking back from your EZA to the others – let us know
Reminds me of what Leo’s talking about at “Internet Marketing For The Rest of Us” — he just did a piece on linking. AND it reminds me of Joseph Archibald’s advice re: the same sort of idea.
Very link-wheelish of you! And very much my plan as well, esp. since Google’s algo change has slapped a couple of my sites into oblivion.
“JamestheJust” ain’t leaving Elance any time soon ! Ah, well.
I forget, did you say you had Web20Bot? I know it sounds like I’m pawning it off onto you, I’m really not, just that it sounds like you’re going for 2.0 properties and it’s a cheap way to do that.
I’d daresay that between Magic Submitter and Web20Bot, as well as others like SENuke et al, your strategy *must work* because that’s what’s currently being automated so much! Excited to see your results.
Yeah, I just read Leo’s piece. The strategy certainly isn’t new, I had heard a few people talking about it for months and one day it made sense. And yeah, linkwheels are the same principle. I’ve been trying to juice my backlinks with bookmarks and a few other links for awhile but I haven’t given them a full onslaught yet on a clean palette so we’ll see if anything happens.
I do not have WebBot and heard it is buggy. I like Incansoft as they are cheap, but their programs usually fail alot of submissions so I don’t even think WebBot is worth it. I don’t plan to use alot of Web.0 sites, just a handful so manual will be fine.
Ah, I didn’t know you lost some sites (rankings). I know Google is up to something but I hear different complaints from different people, not sure what is happening exactly. I have seen a few negatives lately with profile links so I am scared to add those – when are you posting your BLP review??
Nevermind, just check my reader. Reading your BLP review now.
@Carrie,
I would recoment that you submit your articles to Articlebase and Hubpages.
I use these and EZA but I have noticed that my articles in the other two rank quickly and also highly!
Just my 2 cents

Carrie, by “juicing” your articles, do you mean ArticleRanks and Article Bot…?
Also: must agree w/Dennis’ eval of ArticlesBase, they give you 3 links in the resource box, used to allow video embeds (if that matters) and I think still allow images…but for your purposes, it’s an extra link, and they seem to get picked up more for syndication.
Not sure why, but my ArticlesBase articles really get traction that way.
Will have to check out InfoBarrels – that’s also a money-making site in itself, so it would be interesting to see those results.
Thanks, Dennis!
==>getting back on the Elance hamster wheel…too many interesting blogs…<==
Dennis,
I will be submitting to ArticlesBase, it’s in one of my submitters. My issue with Hubpages is the links are only dofollow with a certain hub score and at the moment I only have 1 Hub.
But next round I would probably submit to Hubpages for diversity. Thanks.
