ArticleRanks Review – My Results

May 24th, 2010 · 5 Comments · Backlinks

Okay, I have only been using ArticleRanks for a few weeks so this is still an early review but so far I am pleased.

I forget where I first heard about ArticleRanks (AR) but I do not hear too many people talking about it. When I tried to look for information there wasn’t much to be found, maybe there is more now. I couldn’t even find the pricing on the AR website and had to contact their support to get prices.

Basically, ArticleRanks is similar to other blog network sites like AMA, UAW, and SEOLinkvine. You submit spun content to the site which is then distributed to the blogs in the network. You can also sign up to receive content from AR like the other sites, so I would guess that most of the sites receiving your content are owned by various people who have joined the network to receive free content. When submitting content you can include 3 links within the article.

Now, I have never used AMA, UAW, or SLV because the costs are too high for me at the moment. I did try Free Traffic System, but FTS declined my first article and I find their interface too involved so I did not try again.

I decided to try AR because they have a $2 per submission option. I specifically wanted to see if I could post a spun article that had already been submitted to article directories. I’m not only cheap, I’m lazy, and I want to try and get as many links as possible from one spun article.

Here are my results so far:

First, I have added two articles with spin syntax that had already been published to various article directories using Automatic Article Submitter and ArticleBot.  To reiterate, I wanted to see if I could get additional mileage on one spun article and  it seems to be working with AR. I published my first article 17 days ago and today the stats show that it has been published to 45 sites, dripping out at a few per day. So far, I am seeing 4 links showing up in Yahoo Site Explorer. I also did a search for my titles (spun) and found 11 additional sites with my article indexed in Google.

But what I am really happy about is that of those 15 total indexed sites that have published my article, 10 of the sites actually have PR: (1) PR4 (nofollow), (2) PR3 (all follow), (5) PR2(all follow), (2) PR1 (all follow), (5) PR0(1 nofollow).

My second article is also dripping out nicely. It’s was submitted a week ago so it’s too early to judge, but I am happy to see that another previously used articles is being published (18 sites so far).

ArticleRanks has three membership options much like SEOLinkvine: free, pay per post, and monthly. With a free membership you must submit a blog for receiving content and you earn submission credits for receiving articles. The pay per post option is $2 (credits) per article submission but you do have to purchase credits in $10 increments. The monthly option is $39 for unlimited submission.

So for $10 you could try out the system with 5 articles as I am doing. So far with the 2 articles I have published I am pretty happy. The interface is very nice, the system accepts nested spins, and the articles are dripped out slowly. The question though with these types of networks is whether or not the backlinks will stick as you are at the mercy of the blog owners. We’ll see.

(Oh, and for those who use Magic Article Rewriter, you can export the spin syntax using the AMA exported format)

I’ll update my results as time goes on.

Nice! I read about them on a blog called “content attack” dot com, he says their network does have higher PR1+ blogs on there, he ranked their system the best of all the systems he’d tried.

Very cool results. So, what’s Automatic Article Submitter? Never heard of it. One last question: how have your results been w/article bot? I have the latter, haven’t used it yet.

AAS is an article submitter that submits to a bunch of different directories, I forget how many. I was lucky to pick it up fairly cheap in a firesale but mostly got it b/c it submits to good directories like GoArticles, ArticlesBase, etc. I like it alot but right now I am having trouble getting an upgrade to work and support is not answering, so I am not sure I would recommend it for that reason.

Results with ArticleBot are okay. Many of the directories are crappy and alot have been hacked. It also does not support nested spins. But once you have accounts set up it’s fairly easy to use and I have seen articles indexed but haven’t followed up much on the results from there.

I may try to write up a post on those 2 submitters as they do have some use. So far I submit a spun article through AAS first (dripping it out over time manually) and then submit that same article through AB. I mostly just use the second-rate directories for backlinks to EZA, not direct BLs to my site.

If you have AB you can try the minimal effort approach and just do the automated sign-up. Most will fail and you can go back and do manual sign-ups but it may not be worth your time, it depends. If you try it I suggest setting up a domain email as it is more likely to be accepted than a gmail account.

But if you just do the auto sign-up and that’s it, you could throw in your previously used and spun articles and maybe get a few extra BLs out of it. You will likely, though, have to confirm all the confirmation links yourself, I couldn’t get the software to do that for me.

As alternative resource for guest blog posting and article marketing visit linknami.com
It is not a blog network solely for adsense or posting purposes but lists blogs from individuals all around the world.

Thanks, Carrie. Have you used Magic Article Submitter before? I want as many submitters as I can get for the web 2.0 stuff.

No, I haven’t used MAS but it may be similar to ArticleBot in that I THINK they both submit to directories that use the Article Dashboard script. Since you already have AB, you may want to look into that.
