Hi Isak,

No haven't used UAW or SLV although someday I'd like to try UAW.

I can't say how many BLs come from FTS as this is the first time my articles have been accepted, but with a free membership you are only submitted up to 30 blogs in their network so I'm sure the final tally isn't too high.

Have you tried to use either UAW or SEOlinkvine?

I'm using UAW and I get a lot of backlinks pr submission. Even though it submits to a 1000+ directories I don't get as many backlink. More like 50-100 pr submission (using yahoo to check).

How many backlinks do you get pr. FTS submission?

Might want to check these out:

http://www.webproworld.com/webmaster-forum/threads/98489-301-Redirect-Means-quot-Some-Loss-of-PageRank-quot-says-Mr-Cutts

http://searchengineland.com/analysis-which-url-shortening-service-should-you-use-17204

I remembered another negative. If a service like Bitly goes out of business, what happens to your links? I think that had happened in the past, or almost did (and someone picked up the service).

I have heard conflicting info on url shortners and linkjuice passage so I really don't know what is true. I think I tried testing it once but gave up.

If you are getting PR just from redirectors then it must be okay. Sorry to scare you.

OK great - now you tell me - what do you mean a URL shortener doesn't pass along the linkjuice (assuming you mean site authority)?

Are you sure about that?

I ask because many article directories suggest it (to save space in their minimal resource-box fields), and I know for a fact that UAW and other services like it employ URL shorteners...yet I use UAW and I have some sites (OK, TWO) that have PR just from the UAW runs...

I'm only asking because if true, I need to re-think my strategy, I use URL shorteners almost religiously.

OK, now I'm not sure if I'm correct about FTS and the "?" in a link. I don't see it anywhere so it's worth a try. Sorry.

Sorry, I don't think I wrote that very clearly.

Here is an EZA URL:

http://ezinearticles.com/?5-Ways-to-Zap-That-Zit!&id=4514023

I don't think FTS allows urls with a '?" in it. That's from memory so don't quote me.

You could use a url shortener but I don't think linkjuice is passed on.

FTS is a bit confusing at first and you have to watch their videos to know what you can or can’t do, but I believe you cannot submit links with “?” inside which rules out links to EZA (I may be remembering this incorrectly, though).

Do what? Whatchoo mean, "...cannot submit links with "?" inside which rules out links to EZA"...?

I'm dense. If I understand you correctly, you're saying that you can use the domain extension like a typical domain/subdomain format (not sure if I'm using the right term). Why does that rule out EZA?

Could you use a bit.ly or other shortener?

Just curious. Happy about your results w/site #1 -- good stuff!
