I have updated my earnings page with my April earnings.

My total earnings were down, mostly due to a drop in eHow income. A good majority of my eHow earnings come from one article and the earnings on that article were way down from the last 2 months. Maybe they’ll come back, maybe not. If you aren’t on eHow you may not know that they closed down their writer program and you now have to go through the parent company to submit new stuff. You can either opt for an upfront payment or revenue-sharing, but you have to choose pre-existing  titles and submit to editors. And no more links back to your site from your articles. Unless I am strapped for cash, I probably won’t be writing there anymore.

I did have 2 Clickbank sales which is good, but I was hoping for more. I actually submitted a few articles this month for my small CB site which also included a redirect domain link to see how that would work out. The one sale I did get was from the redirect. My CB site did climb up a bit in the rankings, bouncing from #5 to #10 on Google, but no sales. I also spent time backlinking my backlinks – hopefully my efforts will pay off eventually.

My adsense earnings are about even. I have now removed adsense from all but my old personal site and my one earning niche site. The earnings I show are only from the niche site. I just need to get more traffic to the site. I am hoping soon to spend a week or two just working on that site to get it performing better.

Today I need to work on keywords for a new site. I already have my writer working on articles for my other new site. I think I will just stick with 2 new sites for now as I’m having trouble committing to the other niches I researched. Instead of starting more sites I will focus on ranking all my current sites and go from there.

It’s really too bad about what happened with eHow, but hopefully ClickBank will start to make up for those losses (my earnings were down for this month as well, unfortunately). It sounds like you have a plan and know what you need to do, however, so I’m sure you’ll see some nice jumps in your monthly income revenue soon!

It seems like many people have been hit hard by eHow. I personally wasn’t affected as eHow was on my to do list but it has made me wary of investing too much time in a single third party website and as a result I am attempting to diversify my income away from just Hubpages.
